Surgery Decision

Episode 9

In case you missed it, I’ll be re-releasing podcast episodes from when my husband, Brad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. You can read more about it here.

Episode Summary

“After our meeting at Cleveland Clinic, I walked out feeling more confident having the surgery done with a team that doesn’t have all these emotional ties….When people care about you, and they know the prognosis, and they know the risks, you can see the compassion on their face. And that elevated our fear.”

Brad gets the call from Cleveland Clinic alerting him that his surgery is only days away. The speed at which the surgery was scheduled makes it all feel very real. Brad discusses what this means with Dana, his sister, Lindsey, and his brother-in-law, Bill. They also share why they decided to go with Cleveland Clinic for surgery — and part of it was, surprisingly, the lack of emotions from the team.
